Apple is known for making lots of money off of their iTunes store (which is one of the largest music stores on the internet) and their MAC computers – but ever since they released the new iPhone they seem to be running into every road block imaginable. As popular as the iPhone is Apple never expected to be having so many lawsuits pitted against them.
This time around Apple is being sued for their brand new visual voicemail feature. Apparently the feature was created by Klausner Technologies (who have been known to do business with Apple) and has been hailed as the greatest invention of the year by TIME magazine. Apple (and many other larger companies) forgot to pay Klausner for their creation and instead took credit for it and instilled it.
Klausner has had patent rights for some time and is now suing Apple for $360 million in damages and payment. Klausner has patent rights for any type of visual voicemail services. I suppose Apple should have done more research. It seems that the more successful they get the sloppier they get. Let’s hope that they this is the last little snag they have to worry about.
