Sony has lowered the price of their PS3 hardware kit and making it easier for independent gaming developers to purchase. The price will decrease to almost half. But that isn’t the only thing that Sony is cutting back on. Sony did the same thing to the PS2 hardware kit a year after it had been released back in 2000.
The price cut will be available to those in Japan, Europe, United States, and Australia. Greg Bondar – who is part of the Game Development Association of Australia – was excited to hear the news knowing that it would give otherwise unknown developers the chance to show their stuff and to compete with some of the larger companies.
“A lot of the larger, established studios can get into it, even they find it cost prohibitive, but in general it now gives us and our members a broader base of access to such technology and opportunity to develop. I think it has been a prohibitive factor,” Bondar said.
“If we have access to such development kits, it allows us to produce a better product, so we welcome it; [we] highly welcome it and congratulations to Sony.”

Caller ID installed into your phone is something that has been around for some years now. But what if you could know who was calling without having to get up off the couch and looking at the phone.
When information reached our ears of Google’s new Android cellphone - the Gphone - we immediately believed that it would be the newest competition against the Apple iPhone. much to be thankful for. Especially unbelievably good bargains! There’s never been a better time than now to purchase a new HDTV. 42- inch plasma TVs were selling at 1,300 last summer. This year, they are expected to be as low as $600 after Thanksgiving Day! So why the big plunge in prices? It’s all due to the roll-out of LCD TVs, who usually measure in sizes of 40 inches or larger. So consumers, be on the lookout for cheap, quality plasma TVs. And if you miss this chance, don’t say we did tell you so.
