As from February 12 next version 7 for Windows browser will be automatically installed on all items of business.

Microsoft reminded managers that the deployment of Windows Server Update Service programmed to February 12, 2008 will include an automatic upgrade for Internet Explorer 7. Companies looking to conserve the browser version 6 have received instructions to prevent the auto-update.

If the update service is automatically configured to approve upgrades, IE7 will be downloaded and installed on the PC as soon as employees version is available. Administrators should disable the rule of automatic approval before the deadline in order to prevent downloading.

Microsoft said that this decision was taken for security reasons. Many companies choose to stick to IE6 given the performance problems experienced by some Web applications on IE7.

With its new email service in real time, the group hopes to improve communication for the deaf and hard of hearing users.

AOL has developed an instant messaging system designed specifically for the deaf and hard of hearing.The client operates in real time and adds text messages as of the seizure, without waiting for the order of transmission.

“This is a great victory for AOL and the community of deaf and hard of hearing,” he says. “The use of text in real time is becoming more and more as an alternative to voice communications for users with disabilities.”

The software, developed in collaboration with Gallaudet University in Washington and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is currently in the testing.

The nuances of a dog barks, howls and growls yaps apparently can now be discerned by a new computer program developed by Hungarian researchers.

The software is said to distinguish the emotional reaction of 14 dogs Mudi Hungarian breed.

After analysing 6,000 barks, it aims to determine when a dog has seen a ball, when it is fighting, playing, meeting a stranger or when it wants a walk.

But scientists admit only the technology offers better performance than humans.

Oracle has just released a new service into the virtualization market and already they are stirring the waters and shaking things up. Apparently Oracle stated that their server performs and works better than those of “the existing leader server virtualization product.” While Oracle did not specify who the leader was many have assumed that they were speaking of VMWare.

Larry Ellison - CEO at Oracle - stated earlier in the week that they would be able to back this statement up by showing off their growing numbers on Friday. When Friday rolled around everyone was waiting – but Oracle could not deliver as promised. They haven’t given us an exact date on when they would be available.

VMware’s vice president of global partners and solutions -Brian Byun – stated that Oracle was using the statement as a ploy to attract the crowd – which would explain why there is no evidence to back them up. He went on to say , “When VMWare launches a product and makes claims, we publish the full data.”
