For those of you who have been praying for the unlocked iPhones to lower down from the high price of $1,483 we are happy to say that it has finally happened. France Telecom Orange is offering unlocked standalone iPhones for only $964. I know that to some people this is still a steep price to pay for a cellphone – but you have to remember that the iPhone is not just another phone.
France Telecom saw the potential of selling the unlocked iPhones and began to sell them in twelve of their different stores. Before they began they created an iPhone website to see how many people would be interested. Over 63,000 consumers were hopeful and interested on getting their hands on one that was unlocked.
Now as we stated before $964 is still a steep price for some people – which is why you can get some for only $600. France Telecom is not the only business that saw potential in re-selling the iPhone and is offering a much lower price for it. The reason that they are so expensive is because they offer a new service called visual voicemail – which is “an industry first”.
The service allows consumers to view who left the message and to individually choose the message you want to listen to without having to listen to each one. This saves us from listening to the automated voice repeat to us each message – which in turn will save some time. I think we can all agree that we would love this feature added to every phone.
