The Tenori-On was fashioned by Toshio Iwai, a Japan based visual artist whose preceding work consists of the Electro-plankton, an interactive music video graphics game created to suit the Nintendo DS hand-held gaming unit. The Tenori-On attributes a light panel with sixteen rows of sixteen elucidated LED buttons. On to the sides of the appliance are the buttons that permits users to adjust samples, select one out of the sixteen diverse sound layers, or modify its pitch, musical note length and its time signature. Each of the LED keys is a musical note that can be maneuvered to produce single sounds, or even make light outlines on the screen.

Nintendo has been dominating the gaming industry all year thanks to the Wii – but they were beginning to get worried when Microsoft’s Xbox 360 began to take the lead after they released the much anticipated Halo 3. But during the week of Thanksgiving Nintendo had a big grin on its face after they raked in more money than they have ever made.
While its competitors shuffle their pricing strategies to gain market share and push sales for the upcoming holiday season, Nintendo will stand firm at its $250 price point on the hot-selling Wii gaming console. Nintendo appears to have every reason to keep a steadfast pricing strategy — it’s already the hottest seller, it’s already cheaper than both of its main competitors and it’s widely under-supplied in the U.S.
